A new awareness is being made in our hearts and minds as we have a family in our community in which four children have been diagnosed with Leigh's Syndrome, a mitochondrial disease. As a part of the global Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week, we have been promoting some awareness within the school this week about some of the facts of mitochondrial disease. Today students and staff wore green for "Mito" awareness, and K-8 had a presentation from a medical professional to help us all learn more about it. Students had many questions afterwards, of which one was, "Can we help them?"
